the doing: children of the compost for casey

in response to casey’s concerns around the global erosion of democracy and the loss of community that results, the rebels devised a tiny song titled ‘children of the compost’ to be performed inside a community garden.

the submission:

what overwhelms you?

“I feel overwhelmed by the persistence of illiberal democracies in Asia and around the world.”

why?

“Authoritarian governments have no transparency and rule by arbitrary means. They exert power over minority groups and give power to those they favour and support them.”

casey, 13.10.20.

the thinking:

what is the idea we are moving forward with?

the rebels discussed community gardens, and looking towards ecology for ideas of community.

how can we do it?

sing a song in a community garden, that has a nursery rhyme/round feel and reflects on the ongoing cycles of compost

where does it need to take place?

reconciliation park.

are there any legal implications to the activity?
