lily’s tiny revolution

  • date: 14 october 2019
  • challenge category: climate crisis
  • selected tactic: tiny walkout
  • difficulty rating: easy but legalities
  • current status: hold

the submission:

I feel overwhelmed because in this case it feels as though we are own worst enemy; is our good, proactive side strong enough to counteract our selfish, greedy side? Will this moral conflict resolve itself in time?

lily, 14.10.19.

the thinking:

what is the idea we are moving forward with?

giving $100 to a consumer outside a retail shop, offering them the opportunity to spend it and come back to us after. at the checkout ask the consumer if they would instead like to donate the money to an environmental charity. explaining what the money would instead go on. consume or give.

how can we do it?

write a script. invite a member of the public to participate.  framed as a social experiment / moral dilemma.

where does it need to take place?

grocery store

are there any legal implications to the activity?

open about the process. some issues with filming the action on private property, put on hold.

tactic: walkout
