the submission:

what overwhelms you?

“Our elderly are being left behind, dying alone without adequate care – left to lie in their own excrement for hours at a time. Sitting in forgotten wheel chairs left in the baking sun in concrete courtyards – dehydrated.

The biggest age related suicide rate in Australia is with men over 85 years old who see no future for themselves. Australian Nursing homes are not equipped to provide the care that our elderly deserve. The recent inquiry into aged care uncovered horrific insights into neglect of our ageing population. In many cases both physical and sexual abuse from aged careers were identified.

why?

“All people matter!
Dying with dignity is a right not a privilege.
Look up to elderly with pride and admiration.”
